What is Hastelloy?
Hastelloy is a nickel-based alloy renowned for its exceptional corrosion resistance, high-temperature performance, and mechanical strength. It is widely used in industries such as aerospace, chemical processing, marine, and power generation, where extreme environments demand durable and reliable materials.Hastelloy Beneficial Properties
- Temperature range: -328°F to 2,000°F (-200°C to 1,093°C)
- Superior Corrosion Resistance – One of the most corrosion-resistant alloys, excelling in acidic, oxidizing, and reducing environments, including sulfuric, hydrochloric, and hydrofluoric acids.
- Outstanding Oxidation & Pitting Resistance – Offers superior protection against oxidation, crevice corrosion, and pitting, even in saltwater and aggressive chemical environments.
- Exceptional Weldability – Unlike many other superalloys, Hastelloy can be easily welded and fabricated without compromising its corrosion resistance or mechanical properties.
- Excellent Mechanical Strength – Provides high tensile and yield strength, ensuring structural integrity in high-pressure applications.
- Versatile Chemical Resistance – Performs well in highly acidic, alkaline, and chlorine-laden environments, making it a preferred material in the chemical processing and marine industries.
