What is Inconel?
Inconel is a nickel-based superalloy designed for exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature performance. It is widely used in aerospace, marine, chemical processing, power generation, and industrial heating applications due to its superior mechanical and chemical properties.Inconel Beneficial Properties
- Temperature range: -450°F to 2,200°F (-268°C to 1,200°C)
- Standard hardness: 175-240 Brinell
- Corrosion Resistance: Forms a protective oxide layer, resisting rust, oxidation, and aggressive chemicals, even in acidic, marine, and high-pressure environments.
- Creep & Fatigue Resistance: Withstands constant mechanical stress and thermal cycling without significant wear, cracking, or failure over time.
- Excellent Mechanical Strength: High tensile and yield strength prevent deformation under extreme stress, making it ideal for jet engines, nuclear reactors, and exhaust systems.

Inconel Custom Piston Ring Material Grade Options
Inconel piston rings are available in the following grade options:- Inconel 600: Excellent oxidation & corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties at extreme temperatures (up to 2000°F)
- Inconel 601: Superior oxidation resistance, high-temperature stability, great resistance to carburization
- Inconel 617: High strength, oxidation & creep resistance up to 2100°F, excellent metallurgical stability
- Inconel 625: Outstanding corrosion & fatigue resistance, excellent weldability, high strength
- Inconel 686: Superior pitting & crevice corrosion resistance, high strength in aggressive environments
- Inconel 690: Excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance, oxidation & thermal stability
- Inconel 718: High tensile, creep, and fatigue strength, great weldability, maintains strength up to 1300°F
- Inconel X-750: High strength, oxidation & corrosion resistance, excellent creep resistance at high temperatures
